As part of a joint initiative of the Mi’gmaq Maliseet Aboriginal Fisheries Management Association (MMAFMA) and the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation (WWFN), MMAFMA is looking for a marine biologist to carry out projects in fisheries, aquaculture and conservation. Under the scientific responsibility of the Executive Director of MMAFMA and under the operational directives of the Director of Commercial Fisheries of WWFN, the Marine Biologist will be responsible for studies, analyzes, data collection, observations, samples and other manipulations at sea or in the laboratory, in order to obtain the scientific information required according to the priority projects of the WWFN. The various projects fall within the framework of MMAFMA’s mission, in connection with the sustainable management of fishery resources, the conservation of the oceans and the diversification of the fisheries and aquaculture of its member communities.
