Today, the Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Parks and Minister responsible for the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and the Nord-du-Québec region, Mr. Pierre Dufour, as well as the Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region and the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, Caroline Proulx, announced the granting to the Group for research and education on marine mammals - GREMM of financial assistance of $ 600,000 for the Window on the Belugas project. Both were accompanied by Mr. Ian Lafrenière, Minister responsible for Indigenous Affairs, Mr. Robert Michaud, President of GREMM, and Mr. Jacques Tremblay, Grand Chief of the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation
The Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation is pleased with this announcement, which will allow this project, in which it is involved, to develop in a way that diversifies the regional tourism offer and ensures the protection of an endangered species.
